Our Services

We offer a wide range of services. All evaluations take place in person. Therapy primarily takes place in person, tele-health is offered when clinically appropriate.

Assessment

We provide comprehensive diagnostic assessments for speech, language, and feeding skills. Our assessment protocol works to determine each client’s areas of strength and areas of need. Comprehensive assessments are crucial to helping those with suspected communication impairments. Assessment protocol is individualized based on reported areas of concern as well as clinical observations.

Articulation Treatment

Articulation therapy focuses on improving speech sound production and/or intelligibility. Intelligibility refers to a client’s ability to be understood by both familiar and unfamiliar listeners. Articulation errors can come in the form of substitutions, additions, and deletions. Speech-Language Pathologists teach clients how to correctly articulate each sound, working through a hierarchical structure from least to most complex with the ultimate goal being to produce the sound correctly at the conversational level.

Phonological Therapy

Phonological processes are processes used by children to simplify adult speech. Children use phonological processes while they are developing the skills needed to produce more complex speech sounds. All children use phonological processes, however the processes should be eliminated over time. Phonological therapy works to reduce the use of these phonological processes to increase intelligibility.

Language Therapy: Pre-School

Children learn language in generally the same way but not always on the same timeline. Early intervention is crucial for children with language delays. Pre-school language therapy focuses on improving the child’s understanding and/or use of language across communicative contexts and partners. Parents/caregivers play a critical role in treatment in this population. The ultimate goal of pre-school language therapy is functional and efficient communication across environments and communicative partners.

Language Therapy: School-Aged

Language therapy for school-aged children can consist of a wide range of goals and activities including but not limited to: understanding/using a variety of “wh” questions, phonemic awareness tasks (i.e. rhyming), figurative language (i.e. understanding/use of similes), inferencing, social skills (i.e. understanding emotion), and so much more! Speech-Language Pathologists can also work to support literacy skills for improved comprehension of literature.

Feeding Therapy

Feeding therapy focuses on improving motoric and/or sensory functions. When improving sensory functions, a play based systematic desensitization is used to facilitate eating. When improving motoric functions, a variety of tools may be used to prepare the mouth for eating and drinking. The ultimate goal of feeding therapy is safe, independent, nutritive feeding.
